Call to action strategy

One of the most important tools in converting visitors to leads is effective calls-to-action. Your call to action is one of the most important elements on your website so it should stand out and be easy for your visitors to find.  Implementing calls-to-action throughout your website are what guides and persuades your prospects on what to do next and tells them what will happen if they do.

A call to action is essentially a strongly worded suggestion that clearly states what action you want your visitors to take. Some examples of calls to action’s are:

  • “Join our affiliate program.”
  • “Add to your shopping cart.”
  • “Email us for a coupon.”
  • “Click here to sign up for a demonstration.”

You want to peak people’s interest and make them believe that taking the specified action will offer them a direct benefit.

It’s also a good idea to include an emotionally appealing benefit in your call-to-action. This convinces visitors of the value of your product or service and encourages them to take action.

Lastly, make sure you tell your visitors exactly what you want them to do! Use direct, action-oriented words such as these:

  • Subscribe (to a newsletter)
  • Click (on a link)
  • Fill out (a survey)
  • Read (an article)
  • Enter (a contest)
  • Join (an affiliate program)
  • Buy (your product)

When it comes to online presence the effectiveness of your website is vital. You must not underestimate the importance of publishing good quality content and having strong call-to-actions that will attract leads onto your website and capture them.
